Recycling Policy

Our recycling policy

If you are unsure of how our recycling is undertaken, let us put your mind at ease. We are fully licenced with the Environment Agency and work very hard to reduce landfill.

Working hand in hand with our chosen charities we donate a great many goods that can raise funds. We also operate a strict re-use/recycling policy and aim to achieve a recycle rate of 99%.

All items that can be re-used or recycled are carefully sorted to ensure the minimum amount goes to landfill. It is amazing what things can be recycled!

The following items are always recycled or re-used:

  • Glass jars and bottles
  • Wood, timber and furniture
  • Clothing, shoes and material
  • Books, records, DVDs and CDs
  • Paper and cardboard
  • Electrical items
  • Plastics and metal
  • Spectacles and hearing aids
  • Bicycles
  • Garden furniture and equipment
  • Bras (Cancer Research UK)
We also list other items on Freecycle, (a web based site to give away unwanted items for free). Sometimes these are used for props for theatres/exhibitions or in artworks; it’s quite true to say there is normally a use for most items.
